Data Management

ClearSpark provides a secure and efficient data management service.  We provide everything from data capture tools, storage and transformation of data, to the prodution of figures, statistics or data extracts.  Since we use open source and our own, proprietary, software, we can customize any step in the pipeline and are able to do uncommon operations that are unique to your dataset.

In a typical project, we provide a web-based interface for the client to interact with the dataset/s. Data can be uploaded in Excel or CSV format or entered directly through a form on the project website. Once the data is uploaded, it is saved securely in a relational database. Data transformations or any type of processing can be done on the data once it is in the database. Data visualizations and or data summaries of the live data can be created and viewed on the website. This is especially useful to monitor progress during a study with a large fieldwork component. Access to any webpage or other resource can be controlled with username and password checks.

Where desired, we can maintain history of changes in the data, the originals of files that were uploaded etc. so that information can be traced back to the source.
