  • Descriptive Statistics
    • Calculating frequencies and means of data
    • Analysing spread and variance of variables
    • Comparing differences between frequencies or means for separate groups (e.g. t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square tests)
    • Providing graphical summaries of descriptive statistics
  • Regression Analyses
    • Evaluating the relationships between variables with respect to decreases, increases, and statistical interactions among variables
    • Finding predictors and/or risk factors for outcomes, taking into account confounding variables
    • Analysing time-to-event data

In addition to the above statistical analyses, our consultant is also able to help clients with a variety of other data and quantitative study issues:

  • Cleaning and coding data
  • Manipulation of data
  • Interpreting data results for reports and publications
  • Advising clients on study design and analysis plan for protocols:

    • Using appropriate sampling methods
    • Developing questionnaires to align with future intended statistical analyses
    • Supplying guidance on data collection methods

Important Information to Note

  1. Our statistical consultant is available by appointment only. To arrange an appointment or consultation, please contact (link to contact info). Consultations are available via skype.
  2. It is best to consult with us at the beginning of your projects in order to make sure variables are measured in an appropriate manner for the analysis of your specific research questions.
  3. Please allow adequate time for analysis. A minimum of 2 to 3 weeks may be needed for the analysis if it is a busy time of the year or if complicated and extensive analyses are required. Requests should be made at least 4-6 weeks before hard deadlines
  4. For each analysis, we estimate that you should budget for 10-12 hours of work from our consultant. The amount of time spent on analyses will depend on: how clean the dataset is; if a codebook is available; the size and un-usualness of the dataset; and how many research questions need to be analyzed.
  5. Datasets must be in the final format before analysis can begin. (Click here for dataset guidelines)
